Plaza Premium Group to Launch First-Ever Lounges at Cairo International Airport

Plaza Premium Group (PPG), a leader in global airport hospitality services, has announced a landmark partnership with Egypt Aviation Services (EAS) and Cairo Airport Company (CAC) to manage and enhance six VIP lounges at Cairo International Airport (CAI). This collaboration marks PPG’s official entry into the Egyptian market and reinforces its presence in the MENA region.

The partnership will see PPG take over the management, operation, and commercialization of six lounges located across Terminals 1, 2, 3, and the Seasonal Terminal. These lounges will be rebranded as Plaza Premium Lounge by CAC and EAS. Additionally, a new lounge near the F Gates in Terminal 3 is under development, promising to elevate the passenger experience at Egypt’s busiest airport.

Cairo’s Role as a Regional Hub

Cairo International Airport, which handled 26.4 million passengers in 2023, is a pivotal hub for air travel in Egypt and Africa. With connections to 125 destinations across 62 countries, the airport is a vital gateway for both tourism and business in the region. As a key driver of the Egyptian economy, CAI’s strategic importance extends to its role as a hub for cargo transport and intercontinental connectivity.

“This partnership with EAS and CAC opens up exciting opportunities for our first entry into the Egyptian market,” said Okan Kufeci, Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Plaza Premium Group. “We are committed to making travel better for all passengers flying through Cairo International Airport with our award-winning hospitality services.”

Supporting Egypt’s Tourism and Aviation Growth

The collaboration aligns with Egypt’s vision of becoming a premier global destination for tourists and business travelers. “Egypt represents a burgeoning market in global tourism, and Cairo International Airport plays a critical role in connecting travelers across Africa and the MENA region,” stated Magdy Ishak Azzer, Chairman and CEO of Cairo Airport Company. “We are pleased to embark on this new era of world-class airport hospitality with Plaza Premium Group.”

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding which confirms the joint venture with the Cairo Airport Company (CAC) and Egypt Aviation Services (EAS).

General Mohamed Kamel Moustafa, Chairman and Managing Director of Egypt Aviation Services, emphasized the importance of enhancing passenger experiences: “The travel and tourism industry in Egypt is growing exponentially, driven by increased passenger traffic, new routes, and expanded airline capacity. This partnership amplifies Egypt’s reputation as a global aviation hub.”

PPG’s Expanding Footprint in the MENA Region

This partnership is part of PPG’s broader expansion strategy in the MENA region, which includes recent entries into Saudi Arabia, Kenya, and Abu Dhabi. With its extensive network spanning key markets such as Turkey, Dubai, and China, PPG aims to deliver its world-class airport hospitality services to travelers at every stage of their journey.

The revamped lounges at Cairo International Airport will offer premium services and amenities, ensuring a seamless and luxurious experience for all passengers. This initiative underscores PPG’s mission to elevate global airport hospitality standards and position Cairo as a leading aviation hub in the region.
